Welcome to Arrest Stories. YouTube star Jack Doherty was arrested in Miami Beach on drug possession charges after allegedly blocking traffic while filming social media content. Here's what may have happened.
On November fifteenth, twenty twenty-five, around three twelve in the morning, officers were conducting a high-visibility enforcement detail in the seven hundred block of Washington Avenue within Miami Beach's Entertainment District. According to police reports, a group of individuals entered the roadway from the east sidewalk into the northbound lanes.
Twenty-two-year-old Jack Doherty, who has more than fifteen million followers on YouTube and over ten million followers on TikTok, separated from the group and attempted to engage officers. Police say Doherty positioned himself in the middle of the roadway with passing vehicular traffic, creating what authorities described as a significant safety hazard.
Officers told Doherty to move out of the roadway, but he refused their instructions. Police warned him that he would be arrested if he didn't comply with their orders. According to the report, Doherty was attempting to create video content while disrupting traffic flow.
During a subsequent search, officers found half of an orange oval-shaped pill with the number three imprinted on it, which police say is consistent with a Schedule Two amphetamine. Authorities also discovered three suspected cannabis cigarettes in his possession.
Hours before his arrest, Doherty had posted videos of himself on a yacht in Miami and livestreamed his night out on the app Parti. The content creator is known for filming provocative videos involving pranks and has faced previous incidents, including crashing his two hundred thousand dollar McLaren sports car while livestreaming in October twenty twenty-four.
Doherty was charged with possession of a controlled substance. His bond was set at three thousand five hundred dollars.
The Miami Beach Police Department stated, "The Miami Beach Police Department remains steadfast in its commitment to maintain public safety and order throughout the city regardless of celebrity status. The department will continue to take proactive enforcement action against behavior that endangers residents, visitors, or officers and will hold all individuals accountable under the law."
