Welcome to Arrest Stories. A twenty-one-year-old Gwinnett County sheriff's deputy was arrested on multiple felony charges after a mother discovered illicit messages he allegedly sent to her teenage daughter. Here's what may have happened.

On January fifth, twenty twenty-five, in Gwinnett County, Georgia, Special Victims Unit detectives received a disturbing report from a concerned parent. The mother had discovered what authorities described as illicit messages from an adult to her teenage daughter who was under sixteen years of age.

According to police reports, the investigation quickly led detectives to identify Rylee Willis as the suspect behind these messages. Willis was employed as a deputy with the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office at the time of the alleged incident. The twenty-one-year-old was still serving in a probationary capacity, meaning he had not yet achieved permanent status with the department.

Under Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office policy, entry-level sworn and non-sworn employees must complete two years of probationary status before being granted permanent status. Willis had not completed this probationary period when the alleged crimes occurred.

Following the investigation by the Special Victims Unit, Willis was arrested on January fifth and charged with two counts of child molestation and two counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes. All charges are felonies. Willis is currently being held without bond.

The Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office terminated Willis's employment following his arrest. Officials from the sheriff's office stated that the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office holds its employees to the highest standards of professionalism and accountability.

The case was investigated by the Gwinnett County Police Department's Special Victims Unit, which specializes in crimes against children and vulnerable populations. The investigation began immediately after the parent reported finding the concerning messages on January fifth.

Willis is no longer employed by the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office as a result of these charges and the subsequent investigation.
