Welcome to Arrest Stories. R&B singer Trey Songz was arrested in Manhattan after allegedly punching a nightclub employee in the face and causing property damage at two separate venues. Here's what may have happened.
Forty-one-year-old Tremaine Neverson, known professionally as Trey Songz, was partying with his crew at Times Square hotspot Dramma Night Club in the early morning hours of December fourth. According to police reports, a club employee approached Neverson around four twenty-five a.m. to inform him and his group that the venue was closing for the night, reportedly saying "Have a good night, brother."
Police allege that Neverson became "needlessly irate" after being told it was closing time. The situation escalated when Neverson allegedly punched the Manhattan nightclub worker directly in the face. The assault reportedly caused the employee "swelling and substantial pain" from the incident.
The confrontation at Dramma Night Club was not the only incident that morning. Later, at Manhattan restaurant and hookah lounge Mira, Neverson allegedly caused approximately fifteen hundred dollars worth of property damage. The damaged items included hookahs, DJ equipment, and sofas according to police reports.
Following the nightclub assault, the employee from Dramma was granted an order of protection against Neverson. The singer was subsequently arrested and charged in connection with both incidents.
Neverson's legal team responded to the charges, stating "He was charged in connection with an incident that occurred last week and looks forward to the facts coming to light." His representatives also claimed "His security intervened to protect him and contain the situation, and an altercation occurred amid the confusion" and alleged the singer was being targeted by individuals "in pursuit of headlines or financial gain."
The defense maintained that "Despite being the target of the initial provocation, Trey was arrested" and emphasized that "He is cooperating fully and looks forward to the facts coming to light."
Neverson's next court appearance is scheduled for nine a.m. on February eighteenth.
All suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Do not take this report as factual, always verify facts. Thanks for watching Arrest Stories.
