The warrant was executed by the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, who assisted the sheriff's office in apprehending Peters. Peters was released from jail, only to retreat into the lobby for approximately 10 minutes before being taken into custody.
The arrest occurred at a lavish Las Olas Isles Mansion in Fort Lauderdale, which rents for $65,000 a month. Peters has hundreds of thousands of followers online and is a controversial streamer. The Osceola County Sheriff's Office had asked the Fort Lauderdale Police Department for assistance in arresting Peters.
The incident that led to Peters' arrest occurred at an Airbnb in Kissimmee, Florida, on February 2, just after 4 a.m. A 19-year-old woman reported that she had been battered by 24-year-old Violet Marie Lentz. Deputies responded to the Airbnb and found evidence of a physical fight between the two women.
Neither Peters nor Lentz came out of the residence to speak to deputies about the incident when they arrived at the house to investigate. The deputies described the street where the incident occurred as "pretty much a party house" due to the frequent presence of cars.
Peters has been at the center of controversy online, with several news sources reporting on his arrest. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is also investigating Peters after a video surfaced showing him repeatedly shooting at an alligator.
