MURDER SUSPECT JUMPS OUT WINDOW AFTER POLICE DOG FINDS HIM HIDING

Welcome to Arrest Stories. An eighteen-year-old suspect wanted for the premeditated murder of a congressional intern was dramatically captured after jumping from a window when U.S. marshals released a police dog into his hideout. Here's what may have happened.

On a Wednesday night in Germantown, Maryland, federal marshals closed in on Naqwan Lucas, who had been evading capture on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant for first-degree murder while armed. The eighteen-year-old was the final suspect in a deadly shooting spree that claimed the life of congressional intern Eric Tarpinian-Jachym near the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

According to police reports, Lucas and two accomplices allegedly went hunting for rivals on June thirtieth. The trio armed themselves with pistols, donned masks and gloves, then climbed into a stolen black Acura. In the Shaw neighborhood of Northwest Washington, all three suspects exited the vehicle and unleashed a barrage of seventy-six rounds at two people riding tandem on a bicycle.

The gunfire struck and killed Tarpinian-Jachym, who was walking outside at ten twenty-eight that night. Officials stated, "His life was about being an intern and living in Washington. It was a dream until he walked out onto the street and got shot by a group of punks."

After the shooting, the suspects abandoned the stolen Acura in District Heights, Maryland, and used a rideshare service to return to D.C. Lucas's accomplices, Kelvin Thomas and Jailen Lucas, were arrested on September fifth and charged as adults with first-degree murder while armed.

The breakthrough came when U.S. marshals received a tip about Lucas's location, aided by a seventy-five-thousand-dollar reward. When no one answered the door at the Germantown residence, marshals released a police dog into the home. Lucas was arrested after jumping out a window in a desperate escape attempt.

Lucas pleaded not guilty before Judge Dana Dayson and faces additional charges in the death of seventeen-year-old Zoey Kelley, whose body was allegedly found in a storage container.

All suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Do not take this report as factual, always verify facts. Thanks for watching Arrest Stories.
