Welcome to Arrest Stories. A twenty-five-year-old man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder with a firearm following the fatal shooting of a popular social media influencer in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida. Here's what may have happened.

On Friday evening around seven p.m., authorities responded to the thirty-three hundred block of Northwest Thirty-Seventh Street in Lauderdale Lakes after receiving a nine-one-one call. When deputies arrived, they were flagged down by Shanoyd Whyte Junior, who identified himself as the caller who had directed them to his Chevrolet Malibu parked in a driveway.

Inside the front passenger seat, deputies discovered the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, known online as Girlalala, was a twenty-one-year-old transgender influencer and hairstylist from Pompano Beach with over two hundred thirty-five thousand TikTok followers and tens of thousands of Instagram followers.

According to police reports, Whyte Junior and the victim had been in a relationship for three years and argued frequently. On this particular evening, the couple had been engaged in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation while inside Whyte Junior's vehicle. Police stated the two were "engaged in a verbal argument which turned physical while inside of Whyte Junior's vehicle."

Video footage from a nearby Tesla captured Whyte Junior getting out of the driver's side of his beige sedan. The passenger door opened and the victim attempted to exit the vehicle, but Whyte Junior was seen grabbing her by the hair and forcing her back inside before pacing around with a cell phone.

During questioning, Whyte Junior told investigators that "he then pulled his firearm but declined to provide any further details, stating he did not want to incriminate himself." Police confirmed that "at some point, the victim was shot while sitting in the car."

The victim was rushed to Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale where she later died from her injuries. A firearm was recovered at the scene, and Whyte Junior was taken into custody immediately.

Whyte Junior has been charged with first-degree murder with a firearm and is being held without bond.
