Welcome to Arrest Stories. A twenty-two-year-old Iowa man was arrested in Colorado following a multi-state manhunt after allegedly confessing to killing three women in Utah. Here's what may have happened.
On March fifth, twenty twenty-six, Ivan Miller was found and arrested at two forty-one a.m. in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Authorities used drones and canines during the manhunt to locate Miller, who was found carrying a concealed gun and a large knife when safely detained.
According to police reports, the timeline of events began on February twenty-eighth when Miller hit an elk with his truck in Loa, Utah. Miller sold the truck to a tow company and stayed in an area hotel for several days. On March fourth, Miller allegedly killed Margaret Oldroyd at her home in Lyman, Utah.
In interviews with investigators, Miller admitted to shooting the three women and stabbing one of them. According to official statements, Miller told police he did it because he needed money but he did not like to do it. Miller provided detailed accounts of his actions, stating that he stayed the night in the back shed at the elderly woman's home after coming to Lyman. Miller advised that he saw a Buick Lesabre at that location and watched the old lady drive away. Miller then entered her home, waited for her behind a door, and shot her in the back of the head with the nineteen eleven pistol while she was sitting down watching television.
Officials tracked Miller through southern Utah into northern Arizona and eventually into Colorado in one of the victims' vehicles. During the search, officials asked for help finding a white Subaru Outback but warned people not to approach it.
Miller does not appear to have any connection to the area or any connection to any of the victims, who have only been identified as being women in their thirties, sixties and eighties. Miller appears to have little criminal record other than Iowa charges and was previously booked into the Davis County, Iowa jail on December thirty-first.
Miller remains in Archuleta County, Colorado while awaiting extradition to Utah on the triple homicide charges.
All suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Do not take this report as factual, always verify facts. Thanks for watching Arrest Stories.
