Welcome to Arrest Stories. A forty-year-old man from Georgia has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder after allegedly stabbing a woman to death inside a Palm Beach Gardens Barnes and Noble bookstore. Here's what may have happened.
On December tenth, twenty twenty-five, around four fourteen in the afternoon, emergency responders received a nine-one-one call reporting a man attacking a woman at the Barnes and Noble bookstore located at eleven thousand three hundred eighty Legacy Avenue in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Police arrived to find Rita Loncharich lying on the floor with a pocket knife embedded in her back. The victim was bleeding and later died at the hospital. According to police reports, Antonio Roderick Moore had been sitting inside the store charging his phone when he approached Loncharich and stabbed her in the back.
Moore fled the scene but was apprehended without incident approximately fifteen hundred feet away in wooded area near Fairchild Avenue and Campus Drive. Investigators say Moore had arrived in Palm Beach Gardens about a week earlier after traveling by bus from Georgia and was homeless at the time of the incident.
During questioning, Moore willfully admitted to stabbing the woman and running from the store. He told police he had no prior interaction with the victim and stated there was an internal buildup that led to his fight or flight response kicking in, with the victim being the closest person inside the store.
One witness expressed shock at the random nature of the attack, saying it's terrible that anybody cannot walk into a regular store without being fearful of being stabbed. The shopping center released a statement saying they are deeply saddened by the tragic death and are working closely with local law enforcement while enhancing their on-site security presence.
Moore is being held without bond on charges that represent one of the most serious criminal allegations under Florida law. Investigators believe the killing was planned in advance, though they have not released additional details to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation.
All suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Do not take this report as factual, always verify facts. Thanks for watching Arrest Stories.
