Welcome to Arrest Stories. A former college football player was arrested after allegedly beheading a woman's dog and posting images on social media, leading to a three-hour standoff with police in northwest Atlanta. Here's what may have happened.
On February eleventh at two thirty in the afternoon, officers responded to a residence on Illinois Avenue in the Grove Park neighborhood after receiving a report of a deceased canine. Police discovered a beheaded dog on the porch of the home along with a machete found nearby.
The dog, originally named Octey but renamed Bambi by her owner Precious Cody, had been missing before the gruesome discovery. Cody received a phone call that day informing her that her dog had been decapitated. The owner described her emotional connection to the pet, stating "I adopted her and brought her home. All she wanted to do was cuddle." She had renamed the dog, saying "Yeah, I'm going to name her Bambi because of the ears."
The suspect, thirty-one-year-old Jalen Wade, allegedly beheaded the animal and uploaded images of the act on social media. Wade, known in the music industry as "Lil Drip," is a Georgia State graduate and former college football player. The attack reportedly occurred in public view where neighbors could witness it.
When officers attempted to make contact with Wade inside the residence, he refused to open the door and provided no response to police efforts. Officers then obtained a search warrant for the property. Wade barricaded himself inside the home, prompting authorities to call in a SWAT team.
The standoff lasted approximately three hours before officers successfully took Wade into custody. A neighbor reported seeing unusual markings, stating "I saw several voodoo signs on the wall, paint all on the wall as if someone was doing some type of voodoo."
Cody expressed her trauma from the incident, saying "Every time I try to close my eyes, I just see her face."
All suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Do not take this report as factual, always verify facts. Thanks for watching Arrest Stories.
