FLORIDA WOMANS BOLD 911 CALL LEADS TO KIDNAPPING ARREST

Welcome to Arrest Stories. A fifty-six-year-old Florida woman was arrested on four counts of attempted kidnapping after allegedly impersonating a child services employee to try to take a nine-year-old boy from his babysitter. Here's what may have happened.

On Friday, February thirteenth, twenty twenty-six, Nicole Terry Thomas arrived at a residence in Polk County, Florida, accompanied by the biological mother of a nine-year-old boy. According to police reports, Thomas knocked on the front door and front window of the home, telling the babysitter she was a Department of Children and Families case manager there to pick up the child.

The nine-year-old alerted his babysitter that DCF was outside with his mom and was trying to take him from the residence. Thomas claimed she was there to take the boy to his biological mother, who does not have custody and has documented mental health challenges. Police say Thomas met the biological mother at church and told her she worked with DCF and could help retrieve the child and get her life back on track.

When the babysitter refused to hand over the child, Thomas allegedly threatened to remove all the children from the home. At no point did Thomas present a DCF business card or proof of employment when requested, according to authorities. When repeatedly asked to leave, Thomas refused.

In a bold escalation, Thomas herself called nine-one-one requesting a deputy's assistance in removing the children. The caller identified herself as Thomas and claimed to be an employee of DCF. During the call, she stated she would be working late due to finding homes for all of the children she was going to be removing from the residence.

Sheriff's officials stated Thomas impersonated a government employee, threatened to take four children, and even called nine-one-one to try to get a deputy to help her pull it all off. One official remarked she should have known better.

Thomas was arrested on Friday, February thirteenth, and is being held without bond on four counts of attempted kidnapping and misuse of nine-one-one.

All suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Do not take this report as factual, always verify facts. Thanks for watching Arrest Stories.
