FLORIDA MANS BEAR SPRAY ATTACK ON K-9 BACKFIRES SPECTACULARLY

Welcome to Arrest Stories. A thirty-one-year-old Florida man allegedly sprayed eight deputies and a K-9 with bear repellent while resisting arrest on an outstanding warrant in Vero Beach. Here's what may have happened.

On October thirtieth, twenty twenty-five, Kyle Young was spotted walking near the two thousand block of Old Dixie Highway Southwest in Vero Beach when deputies attempted to serve an arrest warrant. Sergeant Rodriguez used the public address system in his marked patrol unit to order Young to stop, but Young ignored the command and bolted into a nearby wood line.

Deputies arrived wearing law enforcement vests clearly marked "SHERIFF" in bold letters on the back with gold star patches on the front, identifying themselves as law enforcement officers. When Young emerged from the wood line, he continued to refuse orders, yelling at deputies to leave him alone.

According to police reports, Young then pulled out a canister while running, which was later determined to be bear repellent spray. When a K-9 named Jefe made contact with Young, Young utilized the bear spray, propelling chemicals toward the dog.

"Once Jefe made contact with Kyle, Kyle utilized his Bear Spray, propelling chemicals toward Jefe," officials stated in the report. The chemical spray affected eight deputies and the K-9, with officers experiencing "chemical irritation to their eyes, skin, and throat."

This incident occurred one day after Young's white BMW was involved in a high-speed California Highway Patrol pursuit on October twenty-ninth. On the morning of October thirtieth at ten thirty a.m., detectives on the Paso Robles Police Department Special Enforcement Team received notification via their license plate reader system about the wanted vehicle. Detectives located the white BMW parked in the thirty-five hundred block of Park Street and attempted to box in the vehicle. Young allegedly intentionally rammed a police sergeant's vehicle and fled before the bear spray incident occurred.

Young is scheduled to appear for arraignment on February twentieth, twenty twenty-six. The arrest involved fifty-seven thousand five hundred dollars in connection to the case.

All suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Do not take this report as factual, always verify facts. Thanks for watching Arrest Stories.
