Welcome to Arrest Stories. A thirty-nine-year-old stepson of reality TV star Dog the Bounty Hunter has been arrested on charges of aggravated manslaughter of a child with a firearm after allegedly shooting his thirteen-year-old son while under the influence of alcohol and marijuana. Here's what may have happened.
On February third, two thousand twenty-six, the Collier County Sheriff's Office arrested Gregory Anthony Zecca at an apartment in Naples, Florida. Zecca is the stepson of Duane Chapman, known as Dog the Bounty Hunter, through his marriage to Francie Chapman.
The fatal shooting occurred on July nineteenth, two thousand twenty-five. According to police reports, Zecca had consumed alcohol over several hours at a local establishment before purchasing additional alcohol. He later used both alcohol and marijuana at a friend's home. Officials stated Zecca was impaired by alcohol with a blood-alcohol concentration of approximately zero point one one six at the time of the shooting.
Zecca and his thirteen-year-old son Anthony were watching a UFC fight on television when the incident occurred. Police reports indicate Zecca repeatedly practiced drawing a firearm from his waistband and dry-firing while the child was nearby. The weapon had initially been rendered safe by removing the magazine and clearing a live round from the chamber.
A responding officer heard screaming on the dispatch call. When first responders arrived at the Naples apartment, they pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Officers noted the odor of alcohol on Zecca and observed marijuana in plain view.
Collier County Sheriff Kevin Rambosk stated, "This was a heartbreaking and preventable tragedy. Our detectives conducted an exhaustive and thorough investigation, examining every element of what happened through witness statements, forensic testing, subpoenas, search warrants, and more."
The aggravated manslaughter charge carries a potential sentence of life in prison. On February fourth, Judge Deborah Cunningham determined Zecca would not be released on bond. His arraignment is scheduled for March second.
All suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Do not take this report as factual, always verify facts. Thanks for watching Arrest Stories.
